Christian Devotional – June 3, 2016

Read Hebrews chapter 7

VERSE:

Hebrews 7:26–Such a high priest truly meets our need–one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

TRUTH:

We have a high priest in Jesus Christ and He always lives to intercede for us. Here the verse mentions that Jesus truly meets our need and then lists several attributes of Jesus. What’s great is that as they are listing the attributes of Jesus, they are also telling us exactly what our needs are. Jesus meets our needs. We are not holy and He is. We are not blameless; He is. We are not pure or set apart from sinners, but Jesus is. Jesus is the one highly exalted in the heavens; we are not. We had a need that arose out of the fact that we are sinners and Jesus Christ meets every single one of our needs. Are we trusting in Him each and every day?

RESPONSE:

Father, I have so many needs, but they all come from the fact that I am sinful. I know that You are holy and pure and that Your Son Jesus Christ lives to intercede for us. He meets my needs and I praise You for always being able to meet me exactly where I am with exactly what I need most!
