Devotional – January 1, 2012

VERSE:
Luke 9:20–And He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” And Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.”

TRUTH:
We’ve heard many people expound on who they believe Jesus is. Ultimately, it comes down to each person to answer that question for themselves. Granted, the answers do not change to truth of who He really is, but the do determine how each of us will relate to Him. God asks each one of us to answer the question, “Who do you say that I am?” As we begin a new year, who do you say Jesus is? Will we live out our answer this year?

RESPONSE:
Lord, You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God, come to save all who will believe and trust in You. Help me to declare this truth to all people so they, too, may decide for themselves to believe the truth of who You are.
