VERSE:
Psalm 39:1–I said, “I will guard my ways that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth as with a muzzle while the wicked are in my presence.”

TRUTH:
The tongue has such power and influence. It can get us into a great amount of trouble and cause a lot of problems if we are not guarding what we say. We must control our tongue.

RESPONSE:
Lord, help me to be careful what I speak and say today. I want to glorify You in every word that I speak.

    Matt 15:11 says we are not defiled by what we put in our mouth but by the words that come out of our mouths. Today brothers and sisters heed the Psalmist warning and do not defile yourselves in front of your enemies. Allow the Lord’s Holy Spirit to tame your tongue. And through your situation purify your heart.
