The Message – #31

Who do you trust in and look to for help? The people have been looking at Egypt, but God reminds them it should be Him. Read Isaiah chapter 31, focusing on verse 1.

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help And rely on horses, And trust in chariots because they are many And in horsemen because they are very strong, But they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord !

The Israelites had a habit of going to Egypt for help. They would try to form an alliance with them and they would rely on their help instead of relying on God.

What or who do we rely on? Are we focused solely on God and on all that He has for us? Are we seeking Him and Him alone? Are we expecting anyone else to save us? God is our help and salvation, no one else. If we are hoping in anyone or anything else, we will be disappointed.
