The Lord wants the people to know that they will be held to the same standard regardless of who they are or where they are from. Are we keeping ourselves in line with that one standard? VERSE: Leviticus 22:32–You shall not profane My holy name, but I will be sanctified among the sons of Israel; I am the Lord who sanctifies you. TRUTH: Two related ideas jump out of this verse. The first, God’s name is Holy and is to be treated as Holy. We are not to profane His name. The second, God is the one who sanctifies us. We do not make ourselves clean and whole. Even in that time, just offering sacrifices did not make the people clean, God did that. He chose to have the people sacrifice to show their obedience to Him.
