VERSE: Leviticus 13:9–When the infection of leprosy is on a man, then he shall be brought to the priest. TRUTH: The people with pain and problems were to be brought to the priest and the priest was to determine what to do with the person. Only the priest could make that determination. Now, with Jesus taking the place of as High Priest, we should still bring all people to Him. Unlike the priest in Moses’s time, Jesus has the ability to cleanse and restore a person and make them clean again. No matter what a person is experiencing, they are to be brought to Jesus. TRUTH: Throughout the descriptions of the offerings, many times there are provisions for people who do not have the money to afford the bigger offerings. VERSE: Leviticus 10:10–so as to make a distinction between the holy and the profane, and between the unclean and the clean. TRUTH: Many times, the lines between that is right and what is wrong become blurred and we have difficulty seeing clearly what choices we should be making. This occurs when we stop focusing on God and the things He has commanded for us. VERSE: Leviticus 9:23–Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting. When they came out and blessed the people, the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people. TRUTH: When we are made right with God, when our sins are forgiven and we are restored, God’s glory shines through and is seen by all the people around. We become a beacon for the glory of God for others. Moses and Aaron had just finished offering the sacrifices God required to pay the penalty for their sins. VERSE: Leviticus 8:34–The Lord has commanded to do as has been done this day, to make atonement on your behalf. TRUTH: Moses took Aaron and his sons and set them apart for the special purpose that God had for them. However, first God had to cleanse them. VERSE:Leviticus 6:5–or anything about which he swore falsely; he shall make restitution for it in full and add to it one-fifth more. He shall give it to the one to whom it belongs on the day he presents his guilt offering. TRUTH: Forgiveness and restoration go hand in hand. God instructs the people that they are to make restitution at the same time they bring their guilt offering. Part of restoration is to do whatever it takes to make right a wrong.
