Day 46 – Everyone. Everyone was to come to the dedication. Read Nehemiah 12:1-30. These were the heads of the priests and their kinsmen in the days of Jeshua. Day 44 – A plan to fill the city. Read Nehemiah 11:1-19. Now the leaders of the people lived in Jerusalem, but the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of ten to live in Jerusalem, the holy city, while nine-tenths remained in the other cities. Now on the sealed document were the names of: Nehemiah the governor, the son of Hacaliah, and Zedekiah, Seraiah, Azariah, Jeremiah, Pashhur, Amariah, Malchijah, Hattush, Shebaniah, Malluch, Harim, Meremoth, Obadiah, Daniel, Ginnethon, Baruch, Meshullam, Abijah, Mijamin, Maaziah, Bilgai, Shemaiah. Day 40 – The commitment. After the review of their history, the people recognized the need for a fresh commitment to God. Day 38 – Confession and Praise. As the people learned about the law, they focus loot home on concession sins and praise of God’s holiness. Read Nehemiah 8:13-9:5. Then on the second day the heads of fathers’ households of all the people, the priests and the Levites were gathered to Ezra the scribe that they might gain insight into the words of the law. They found written in the law how the Lord had commanded through Moses that the sons of Israel should live in booths during the feast of the seventh month.
