VERSE:
Psalm 79:9–Help us, God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name’s sake.
TRUTH:
Why would God save us? Why does he concern Himself with the difficulties and problems we face? He is God and it would seem that He has bigger things to do. However, here the verse indicates the reason the psalmist is asking for help. He wants God’s name to be glorified. We have claimed God as our Savior and God has claimed us as His children. God saves us and delivers us because of the glory that this displays to the world. Do we give Him glory and praise for what He has done in our lives? He has earned it and He certainly deserves it.
RESPONSE:
Father, You are worthy of all glory and praise. I will lift You up and praise You in everything. May Your name be praised and glorified in all that You do in and through me. Glorify Yourself for You deserve all glory and praise.
