The Message – #2

Read through Isaiah chapter 2. Our focus is on Isaiah 2:17. The pride of man will be humbled And the loftiness of men will be abased; And the Lord alone will be exalted in that day,

This is an interesting verse to look at on Good Friday. As we consider today all that Christ went through leading up to resurrection Sunday, today is the day that we recognize that Christ was crucified. It felt like everything had died for those who were following Christ at that point. Their hope was gone. Their purpose seemed to be gone.

And yet, as we read here in Isaiah, Christ will be over all the pride of men and all the lofty ideas in their hearts . No one else can stand in comparison to the Lord. Even on the dark days, the days where we feel defeated, Jesus Christ is Victorious! Our Holy God is Victorious over any and all who would try to stand up with him.

Do we recognize the truth of our situation, even when everything around us seems to contradict it? We may go through the darkest days and the most difficult times, but like Isaiah, we understand and recognize that Jesus Christ will be Victorious over all. Are we living in victory today, regardless of the situation we find ourselves in?
