Joshua, Day 11

Results of obedience. Read Joshua chapter 11.

God had work for the Israelites to do. They did it, they they had rest. The work was hard and costly, but because they were willing to go through it and be obedient through it, they also got to experience rest.

God has different times of our life set aside. Sometimes, we are in the fighting phase, where we are actively going through the struggles that God is deliberately placing before us. Sometimes we are going through the desert, as consequences of our disobedience. Sometimes we are in the place of rest.

Now, our ultimate place of rest will be with Him in heaven, so we should not expect that we will be experiencing lots of rest on earth. Now is the time for battles. We have so many spiritual battles to fight and continue to push forward. God wants us actively obeying him, not just sitting around. Resting before God gives us rest is sin. What does God have for us next?
