Christian Devotional – April 16, 2013
VERSE:
Ezekiel 2:7–You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.
TRUTH:
God called Ezekiel and all He asked of him was to be obedient to say all that God told him to say. Sometimes we get nervous or worried about how people are going to respond to the message of God. Instead, we must be focused on our own obedience to do and say everything that God has for us to do and say. Are we being obedient to Him?
RESPONSE:
Father, You are God and You are the One who is in charge of the results of sharing Your word. I will not be afraid to share Your word with others today, but will focus on being obedient to simply share as You direct me.

I needed to be reminded of this today. In light of the tragedy in Boston yesterday and numerous other “tribulations” in the lives of my co-workers, I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to share the devotional and passage from James I read this morning “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perserverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacs wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
That passage always speaks to me, because i believe it with all my heart, but then I start to doubt when I go to share with others because I wonder “how will they receive it”?
