Christian Devotional – April 16, 2015

After that brief break to go through Philippians, we’re picking up where we left off in Psalms.

Read Psalm chapter 90

VERSE:

Psalm 90:12–Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

TRUTH:

What does it take to be wise? According to this verse, we gain a heart of wisdom as we learn from God. He teaches us to keep our lives in perspective. We will some day die in this life. We are to keep that in focus because only once we’ve learned this and start to prioritize our life based on this truth, will we truly have wisdom.

RESPONSE:

Father, keep me mindful of the fact that this is not my home; I am simply passing through this life to my eternal life. I desire to be close to You and do the things that will bring value and glory to You, not myself as You are the only thing that lasts. Give my heart wisdom today to make choices with eternity in mind, not just this temporal life.
