Steadfast, Day 1

Are we being steadfast in our faith. Read Jude, chapter 1.
We are going to spend the next few days reading through a book of the Bible written by another brother of Jesus Christ. Jude was also one of Jesus’s brothers and a leader in the early church. While we don’t know as much about Jude as we do about James, we see this short book included in the Bible and also referenced by Peter in his second letter. Because it’s so short, I’m going to encourage you to read through all of it each day.
Jude’s focus is on the importance of staying in true to the faith. We must be steadfast in everything that we do. Interestingly, Jude doesn’t identify himself as a brother of Jesus. Instead, he calls himself a brother of James and a servant of Jesus.
Do we recognize God’s position in our lives and in our hearts? Jude wasn’t trying to be more than what he was. Jude was simply acknowledging that he followed the same Lord and Savior that the others did. In today’s society, many people try to make claim off of relationships or networking. Instead, Jude wanted to appeal to people based on their relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord.
Are we willing to acknowledge him as the Lord of our lives, and are we seeking to follow him in every area? Like Jude, we need to stay steadfastly focused on Jesus Christ as the Lord of our lives.
