Steadfast, Day 2

Secret invaders. Read Jude chapter 1.

There are secret agents from the enemy that have infiltrated the ranks of the believers. Essentially, that’s what Jude is telling the people. While the church is meant to be a safe haven and a place of encouragement, Jude wants the people to know there are people who do not believe the truth that have joined the ranks of the church and infiltrated their assembly.

We have to stay laser-focused on the truth. God’s word is the compass by which we set everything else. We cannot deviate or vary from that, and everyone that we bring into our confidence and our inner circle needs to also believe the same. We cannot allow false doctrine and watered down Christianity to become acceptable in our churches. We must be constantly evaluating the messages that are shared to ensure that they line up with the truth of God’s words.

Do we know and understand God’s word? And can we evaluate what others say to ensure that it lines up? Do we have secret agents that are sharing false doctrines in our midst? We must recognize them and confront them with the truth of God’s word. Jude was directing to the Church to do that, and we need to do it as well.
