Ever felt trampled on? How about dismissed and rejected? Afraid of others? Yea, most of us have experienced these demoralizing situations in the past, some more recently than others. We’re not alone. Read Psalm 56.

My foes have trampled upon me all day long, For they are many who fight proudly against me. When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me?
Psalms 56:2‭-‬4 NASB

Yes, David understood how we feel and he went straight to God with his concern. We can trust God to always be there. We may feel dismissed and rejected by the world, but we are not dismissed by God. We may find ourselves at the receiving end of someone’s lashing out, but God knows the true circumstances. Even in the midst of a storm when we feel like we are standing alone, we are never alone if we are standing with God. And when we really think about it, while it may feel like the others can do so much to us, they really can’t touch us, at least, not in a way that makes an eternal difference. Jobs come and go, positions and money change, friendships grow and decline, but God is constant and steadfast and worthy of our trust, no matter what others do to us.
