Steadfast, Day 6

The constant complainer. Read Jude chapter 1, focusing on verses 14-16.
Jude has been denouncing the evil people in it. Jude is still calling them out. In these verses, he talks about Enoch, a man that we meet only briefly in chapter 5 of Genesis. What’s notable about him is that he does not die, but that he is one of two people that God just takes up to heaven at the end of their lives. Obviously Enoch walked with God, but here we see that he even received messages and words and prophesied.
Enoch lived in a perverse generation. Even though it was only the seventh generation from the creation of man, it’s amazing how far we can fall in such a quick period of time. Complaining starts that entire process. That hint of dissatisfaction and frustration quickly blossoms into full grown rebellion and sin against God.
We must understand that God desires our obedience. God desires our trust and respect. Do we firmly believe that God has everything under control? If we do, we would not be upset or complain about anything going on because we know that God has it under his control.
Complaining is an act that shows a lack of trust of God. Do we trust God? If the answer is yes, there must be no complaining in our lives. How can we watch our tongue and avoid our complaining today?
