Christian Devotional – April 4, 2013

VERSE:

2 Chronicles 34:19–When the king heard the words of the Law, he tore his robes.

TRUTH:

King Josiah was confronted with the words of God and the laws that God had given. He immediately realized how woefully short he had fallen of God’s commands; how sinful he and his entire nation had been. He was immediately repentant and immediately recognized the seriousness of his actions. When we are confronted with our sin, are we repentant, or do we try to hide it or justify it? God knows what we have done. How are we going to respond?

RESPONSE:

Father, I pray You will forgive me. I humble myself before You and I beg You to hear my cries of repentance before You. I pray You will restore me as I turn and look to You.
