Christian Devotional – April 7, 2018

Ever been let down? How about betrayed? Had people turn against you?  We have all experienced this at some time or another in our lives. It hurts. A lot. David knew all about that feeling too and writes about it in Psalm 41.

Even my close friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me. As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, And You set me in Your presence forever.
Psalms 41:9‭, ‬12 NASB

Often we try to get even with those who are against us and have wronged us. We spend our time trying to justify ourselves to each other or to God. Yet, if we are acting in integrity, God is the one who upholds us and who protects us. God is the one who helps us to walk each day through the hurt and the pain. We may be betrayed by those we have called friends, but we have the presence of Christ forever. He will never leave us. We can trust in Him.
