Christian Devotional – April 8, 2015

Read Psalm chapter 86

VERSE:

Psalm 86:11–Teach me your way Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart that I may fear your name.

TRUTH:

Two beautiful truths are here in this verse. First, we need God to teach us. He must help us to learn all about Him, for the more we know about Him, the more we will rely on Him. If we aren’t relying on God, it is because we don’t truly know who He is. Second, we need God to give us an undivided heart. Our hearts are easily swayed, but with God’s help we can keep focused solely on Him. As we do that, we will respect and be in awe of all the ways we see Him moving and working in our lives.

RESPONSE:

Father, keep me focused on You. Give me an undivided heart that seeks to learn only from You. Teach me about You so that I may rely more completely on You today.
