Christian Devotional – August 16, 2015

Read Luke chapter 10

VERSE:

Luke 10:41-42a–“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed–or indeed only one.”

TRUTH:

What are we worried or upset about today? What things are nagging at the edge of our mind and demanding our attention be taken away from the one thing that is the most important? Just as Jesus states here, only one thing is needed. We need Jesus Christ, period. There is nothing else that we need and no other options or possibilities that we need to consider. Instead, our day is to be focused entirely on Him and on how we are to love and serve Him. What are we busily focused on today? What is distracting our mind from the things of God? He is reminding us now, only one thing is needed; only Him.

RESPONSE:

Father, please remove the distractions from my mind and help me to move forward focused solely on You today. You are all I need and I will not become worried or concerned about anything else besides You.
