Read Luke chapter 14

VERSE:

Luke 14:11–For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

TRUTH:

Are we the person who seeks the spotlight for everything that we do? Do we crave the attention and acknowledgement of others? Here, Jesus reminds us that as we seek to lift up and exalt ourselves, we will find ourselves humbled by others and circumstances around us. If we will humble ourselves, then God indicates that we will be exalted. What is the end result we are striving for?

RESPONSE:

Father, I will seek to humble myself today. I know that this world encourages us to honor and glorify myself, but I want to honor and glorify You instead today.
