Times of Transition, Day 41

The standard. Read 2 Kings chapter 21.

The situation for Israel has gone from bad to worse. After King Hezekiah died, his son became one of the most evil Kings that Judah ever experienced. God continues to explain that he is going to judge them based on their sin. He further explains that it’s not just the King that has turned away, but it is all of the people of Judah as well.

God explains that he is going to hold them to a standard that was so low because it was the standard for the other evil Kings that were overthrown by the Lord. The people of Judah couldn’t even measure up to that low standard, let alone the standard of perfection that God demands in his law.

Do we understand God’s standard of perfection? Do we recognize what that looks like in our lives? God has a measuring line up against all of our lives and every single one of them falls short. Only Jesus Christ is able to meet the standard that God demands. To make it through transition, we must be allowing Jesus Christ to live through our life because only he meets God’s standard.
