Christian Devotional – August 24, 2016

Read 2 Kings chapter 6

VERSE:

2 Kings 6:16–“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

TRUTH:

If we could see as God sees, we’d never be afraid or uncertain again. Elisha knew that God had their situation handled and under control. His servant didn’t share that same feeling and was worried when they became surrounded. Elisha told him not to be afraid. When we are facing situation that we feel helpless and afraid in, we can know that no matter what God is in control and God has the situations handled in the way that will bring Him the most glory. Those that are with us are more than those who are with them. That was true for the followers of God in Elisha’s day and it’s true for followers of God today. Will we act today with the faith and confidence that that is true?

RESPONSE:

Father, I know that You always have everything handled. Give me the faith and the confidence to continue to follow through with all that You are doing and have done. I know that If I will trust You, You have everything set up exactly the way You want it and the opposition is outnumbered. Give me eyes to see Your glory and Your will each day, no matter what I face.
