Christian Devotional – August 31, 2015

Read Zechariah chapter 1

VERSE:

Zechariah 1:16–Therefore this is what the Lord says, ‘I will return to Jerusalem with mercy, and there my house will be rebuilt. And the measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem.’ declares the Lord Almighty.

TRUTH:

With repentance comes returning and rebuilding. As the people came and repented to God, the Lord promised to return to them and to rebuild. We are never so far gone that Jesus can’t bring us back and return us, rebuild us, and restore us. As I look at my life, I see so many areas where I need God to move in power and bring restoration. Will we return to Him so that He my bring about His glory through us.

RESPONSE:

Father, I praise You. I return to You and I repent, knowing that You will return to me in grace and mercy and will set about rebuilding me. Make me into Your image to display Your glory to those around me. I thank You for all that You are doing in and through me.
