Read 1 John chapter 5

VERSE:

1 John 5:16–If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.

TRUTH:

While there is debate about what exactly is meant by a “sin that leads to death,” we must realize that God desires that we lift one another up in prayer. Regardless of whether this refers to a sin that, when committed, results in the physical death of the sinner, or something along the lines of the unpardonable sin mentioned elsewhere in scripture. In either case, our support and prayers for our fellow believers is paramount. Do we lift each other up in prayer?

RESPONSE:

Father, You have placed other believers in my life and given me responsibility to pray for them. I lift up each one of them to You now. You know the areas where they struggle and I pray You will give them Your strength to overcome today. Help them seek You and Your life in each decision they make today.
