VERSE:
Isaiah 48:9–For the sake of My name I delay My wrath, and for My praise I restrain it for you in order not to cut you off.
TRUTH:
Why doesn’t God immediately punish sin and wickedness? He delays because of His name and for His praise. The Lord demonstrates mercy when dealing with us and instead of immediately judging our wrong doings and as a result wiping us off the earth, He delays because He knows what will give Him the most glory and praise. When we repent from our wrongs and turn to Him, He is the One to receive the glory and praise. Are we using this time of delay to return to Him?
RESPONSE:
Lord, You are worthy of all praise and all glory and Your name is above every other. You will act in the way that will bring You the most glory, and I praise You for Your mercy. May Your name be praised in all the earth!
