Read Job chapter 35

VERSE:

Job 35:6–If you sin, how does that affect him? If your sins are many, what does that do to him?

TRUTH:

Elihu is reminding Job that even when Job sins, those sins do not negatively impact God. Our sin doesn’t hurt God or injure Him in any way. Sometimes we think that by sinning we are hurting God, but in truth, the only person that our sin damages is us. Our sin damages our relationship with God. God is saddened by our sin. He desires to see us be obedient to Him, but we are the ones that are experiencing the results and consequences of our sins. Are we living in the obedience that God has promised us? Are we experiencing all of God that we could be? Or, is our sin getting in the way.

RESPONSE:

Father, I know that my sins damage my relationship with You. I know that You are able to forgive me and cleanse me. Keep me from getting in my own way, for You have so much more planned for me. Thank You for all that You are doing in my life.
