Christian Devotional – December 28, 2015

Read Genesis chapter 13

VERSE:

Genesis 13:14-15–The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look round from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.”

TRUTH:

Abraham had just divided up the land. His nephew Lot had chosen and gone off to the east and Abram had agreed that he would go west. Yet, then God tells him, “Don’t worry Abram. You’ve not really given up anything. I’m going to give you all of it in the end.” We should never be afraid to be generous and give to others and to God. God will always come back around and make it right. God will not be indebted to anyone and as we choose to give generously to others, God will continue to give generously to us.

RESPONSE:

Father, help me to not be stingy or try to take the best of things for myself. I pray that You will continue to show Your grace and mercy to others as well as to myself. I know that You will take care of me and my needs and I will trust You to do that instead of worrying about that.
