Christian Devotional – December 30, 2014

VERSE:

2 Thessalonians 2:16–May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope.

TRUTH:

Where does our encouragement and hope come from? Going through life, living each day and seeing all the day-to-day things that can come piling on top of us is overwhelming. Sometimes, it’s not about the big things, but about the constant annoyance of the little things. Yet, Christ is our encouragement and hope. We can overcome. We can stand firm. He is with us. Do we lack that hope to get us through another day? Turn to Jesus as the only One who can truly give hope.

RESPONSE:

Father, Your hope is good. You are the author of eternal encouragement. I need that today. I get so bogged down in the day to day activities of life that I seem to just move from one thing to the next, forgetting the true encouragement that You bring. I will praise You and lift You up as You continually lift me up with hope.
