Read Genesis chapter 16

VERSE:

Genesis 16:2–so she said the Abram, “The Lord has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my slave; perhaps I can build a family through her.”

TRUTH:

I can just see Sarai’s argument. “You see Abram, God has created this problem. He’s the one who has messed up the plan, but I have a way to fix it and make everything turn out right.” We say this very thing so often. As we are looking at our life and the things that we think God is going to do, or should be doing, we think we have a better way, a quicker way. Yet God’s plan takes into account all the things that we can’t see and don’t know about. We have to be patient and wait on His perfect timing. If something is truly His will, then we can be assured that He will do it; we just have to wait for His time. What do we have going on in our lives today that we are trying to rush ahead of God?

RESPONSE:

Father, it’s so easy for me to try and make plans to go around the timing that You have for me. I know that You are planning and setting in motion exactly what You have for me, but Father, I get so impatient and try to “help” You out. Forgive me. I want to be so focused on You that I want, not only Your plans for me, but also Your timing as well.
