Blessed is the Word, מ
What lengths are we willing to go to in order to be obedient to God’s word? Read Psalm 119:97-104.
Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies. I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts. I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word. I have not departed from your laws, for you yourself have taught me. How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.

Following God’s word is not easy. Following God’s word is not a simple. However, following God’s word gives us joy. I love how the psalmist talks about the great amount of joy that comes from spending time in God’s word, meditating on God’s word, and following God’s word. Still, we have to choose to follow God’s word.
When we look at all the things that we are doing each day, are we making a conscious choice to put the truths of God’s word first in our life each day? Can we say like the psalmist that I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word? What path are we walking down today?
