Read Psalm chapter 32

VERSE:

Psalm 32:5–Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.

TRUTH:

As we come to God and bear our hearts to Him, He sees our sins and our wrongs. We must make a conscious decision to confess our sins to God as it doesn’t come naturally to do that. I love the last line of this verse as this is something that we often forget. God doesn’t just forgive our sin and cleanse us from the sin, He also forgives the guilt of the sin. We don’t have to be chained by our feelings of guilt or remorse. God frees us through His forgiveness so that we are truly free to love and obey Him.

RESPONSE:

Father, You forgive me when I confess my sins to You. You also forgive my guilt and the feelings that go with my sin. Thank You for setting me free not only of my sin, but also from the guilt that paralyzes and keeps me from moving forward.
