Christian Devotional – February 11, 2016

Read John chapter 5

VERSE:

John 5:6–When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”

TRUTH:

This is such an interesting question that Jesus asks. You would think that since the person has been lying in wait for 38 years that he would want to get better. However, Jesus wanted to speak with him and make sure that the man was willing to commit to the desire to get better. Sometimes, we get so used to the status quo in our lives that we accept it as the way things must be instead of recognizing that Jesus can and will change things in our lives. We do have power to change through JEsus and don’t have to continue to just accept sin in our lives. What are we just accepting today? What can we turn over to Jesus and allow Him to change in our lives today?

RESPONSE:

Father, I desire Your change in my life. I don’t want to just accept that things are the way they are. Help me to learn all that You have for me so that You will be able to mold me into the exact image that You would have me to be. Thank You for being willing and able to produce change in my life.
