VERSE:
1 Chronicles 16:10–Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
TRUTH:
This is such a beautiful picture of the relationship we have with our Savior. We glory in His name. We rejoice simply because we are seeking after Him. The picture of someone who glorys in the holy name of God is like a reptile sunning himself on a rock. The reptile produces no body heat on his own, he must wait and soak up the heat he needs from the sun. It takes time; he can’t just spend a couple of minutes and expect it to last. He must come back again and again. Our glorying in the holy name of God is like that. Do we seek Him and spend time with Him just basking in Him and allowing all that He is to radiate to us and through us? Like the reptile, we will not be able to survive without it.
RESPONSE:
Father, I have no glory on my own. I will bask in You and allow Your glory to fill up my whole life. I will see You in all things today, knowing that You give me meaning, You give me reason to rejoice, and You give me everything that is worth anything in my life, including my very life itself!
