Christian Devotional – February 25, 2016

Read John chapter 17

VERSE:

John 17:15–My prayer is not that you take them out of the world, but that you protect them from the evil one.

TRUTH:

I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I am going through the difficulties that life throws my way, I do want to be taken out of those difficulties. I don’t like going through tough times and problems any more than the next person. However, that’s not what Jesus prayed for us. He prayed that we wouldn’t be taken out of the trials and tough times that come in this world, but that we would be protected from the evil one. We’re still going to go through hard times and trials. We’re going to have difficulties and problems. However, we have to understand that God has a plan and a purpose and that He is going to work to protect us from evil and will bring about good in every circumstance as we continue to glorify Him and seek Him first.

RESPONSE:

Father, I need You! I don’t like going through tough times, but I know that You have a plan and a purpose for them. Thank You for protecting me and helping me to seek and to see how You work in my life.
