Christian Devotional – January 15, 2018

How do we view ourselves? If we’re not careful we will get a view of ourselves that is greater and grander than what it should be. Reading through Luke 14:1-15 we see this verse:

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

It’s interesting how humility and exaltation go together. Whichever one we tend to strive for, we often find ourselves experiencing the other. Often if we spend time trying to get others to exalt us and to try and exalt ourselves, we will often find ourselves humbled by the experiences and situations that we go through. However, if we will humble ourselves and will have a servant heart and mentality, often wee find ourselves to be lifted up.

What are we striving for? What do we seek after? We are to keep the right perspective on what we do and how we do it for only as we humble ourselves will we experience the glory that God desires for Himself.
