The God who Hears, Day 14
The consequences of our sin. Read 1 Samuel chapter 14.
The people of Israel rebelled against God and asked God to give them a king. They didn’t want to just have God as their king, they wanted a physical human being as king. God shared with the people that a king would demand things from them and would take things from them, and the people agreed that they were OK with that. Here, we see the start of this. Saul starts to draft people into the military, whether they wanted to be or not.
When we sin, there are consequences to that. When we choose to follow something else besides God, there are consequences. What we end up finding out is that God always hears us, but do we always hear and listen to him? Do we believe that he will do what he said he will do, both the good and the bad. If we are disobedient to him, there are steps and actions that he is going to take. Just like if we are obedient to him, there are steps and actions that he promises.
Do we hear God? Do we believe his word is true and that he will do all that he says? Do we make our choices and decisions based on how God will react and respond and our obedience to him.
