Christian Devotional – July 17, 2019

The Name of the Lord. Elijah had an audience and he got busy. He built an altar in the Name of the Lord.

So with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord , and he made a trench around the altar, large enough to hold two measures of seed. Then he arranged the wood and cut the ox in pieces and laid it on the wood.

Elijah set up the altar exactly the way that was described in the books of the law. But more than that, he built that alar in the Name of the Lord. This was to be an altar that honored God and that people recognized as belonging to the one true God.

When we are building the things in our life, are we building it to the one true God? Do people recognize that we belong to God based on the work that we do? If not, we need to reevaluate what we are doing and how we are doing or so that we are a reflection of Him.
