The Gospels through the Summer, Day 53

Short term or long term. Which are we aiming for? Read Luke 9.

As Jesus is describing all that is required of people, we see him explain how important it is to focus on the eternal and the long term as opposed to just the immediate. Are we focusing on what God has for us on a short-term basis? Or, do we recognize that God is working and moving in every area and that he sees the long term picture. God is focused on the eternal. Are we willing to lose in the short term so that we can win in the long term?
