Christian Devotional – July 29, 2012

VERSE:
Isaiah 37:14–Then Hezekiah took the letter from the hand of the messenger and read it, and he went up to the house of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord.

TRUTH:
King Hezekiah of Judah was being threatened by Assyria. They were mocking him and mocking God and were boasting about how they were going to overthrow Judah. How does King Hezekiah respond? He takes it immediately before God and gives it to Him. It doesn’t say anything about worrying about it or trying to plan a response. He just simply takes if and gives it to God and allows God to be the One who responds. Today, no matter what problem we face, we are to bring it before God immediately as He’s the One who is able to deal with any problem that arises.

RESPONSE:
Lord, I don’t know what this day will hold, but I know that You are over all and ready for it. I will bring everything to You immediately instead of wasting time worrying about it myself.
