Christian Devotional – July 8, 2012
VERSE:
Isaiah 16:5–A throne will even be established in lovingkindness, and a judge will sit on it in faithfulness in the tent of David; moreover, he will seek justice and be prompt in righteousness.
TRUTH:
Isaiah was telling the people to be kind to the Moabite refugees that would come to them seeking a place to stay. He tells them that a throne will be established in lovingkindness. Jesus Christ has and will completely fulfill this when He takes the throne. He will rule in lovingkindness and will judge with justice and righteousness. We are not to condem those who seek our help. We are to love them and realize that God will be the one to judge them in righteousness.
RESPONSE:
Lord, forgive me for not always showing Your compassion to others. You are the ultimate judge, not me. Help me to treat people with love and compassion and help those in need.
