But God, Why? Day 6

I’ll tell you what will happen, but you’ll have to wait for it to come about. Read Habakkuk chapter 2, focusing on verses 2-5.
God answers habakkuk’s latest question, but God prefaces his answer by telling Habakkuk that this is going to come about, “but you’re going to have to wait for it.” Yesterday, we talked about the importance of waiting on God to answer. But once God does answer, sometimes we still have to wait on God to do what he said he’s going to do.
We can trust God and rest assured that God will always do everything he has promised. However, the timing is not what we always are looking for. It can be difficult to know how God is going to resolve the situation, and yet wait for him to actually bring that about. The temptation is to go ahead and try to bring about what God has said. (Abraham from Genesis 16) The problem is that God knows the way in which he wants these things to come about and us running ahead of him like that does not help.
Are we waiting on God to respond to our questions? And once we know the answer, are we waiting on God to bring that about in his timing? God is never late. God will always, always fulfill his promises. But the when and the how are often not what we would expect. We must patiently wait for him to bring about what he has promised. What do we need to be patient for today?
