But God, Why? Day 10

God will judge the manipulation of others. Read Habakkuk chapter 2, focusing on verses 15-17.
As God is speaking to Habakkuk and telling what types of actions he is going to judge, we see this 4th “woe” is directed at those who are manipulators of others. These are the people that appear to be giving people what they want, but are doing it for selfish motives. These are the people who pretend to be friends, but who really only want to help themselves.
This is such a great reminder that God not only sees our actions, he knows our motives as well. We cannot hide our thoughts from him. God recognizes the selfish and self-centered thoughts that we have, and God knows when those are what is motivating us.
God wants us to understand that he sees the people who are doing these things and he is going to judge them for it. What motivates us? God already knows. Why are we doing the things we do? God already knows. We can’t keep secrets from him and God will hold everyone accountable at the right time.
