Christian Devotional – June 17, 2013

VERSE:

Acts 16:13–On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there.

TRUTH:

When Paul and Silas went to go look for the local church in the new area they were in, they went looking for a place of prayer. Would we characterize our church that way? If a stranger was looking for a house of prayer, would they be directed to our local church? Jesus called His house a house of prayer. Are we following that or have we turned His house into something else.

RESPONSE:

Father, I pray You will continue to use me to make Your house a house of prayer. I know that You desire to meet with us and that You are powerful and work through the prayers of Your people.
