Christian Devotional – June 21, 2015

Read Mark chapter 1

VERSE:

Mark 1:22–The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law.

TRUTH:

When Jesus spoke, people listened. They may not have liked what He was saying, but no one could argue that He had authority and spoke with power. The people weren’t used to seeing that and the authority and power of Jesus drew people to Him.We do not have power or authority on our own. Our only power and authority comes from Jesus Christ and through Him. Are we surrendered to Him each and every day, for unless we are working and moving in His strength and His authority, we are doing it in vain.

RESPONSE:

Father, I praise You and lift You up. I need You desperately in my own life, for without Your power and authority, I am simply dust. Your breath in me gives me life and Your authority in me gives me power. I will surrender to You fully today.
