Full Faith, Day 13

Relationship. Read Colossians 3:18-25.

Over the years, these verses have been read and studied and discussed a lot regarding the nature of the relationship between a husband and wife. While this can be the subject of much debate in our culture, God is very clear that the husband is to be the head of the household and to follow Christ as he leads his family. The wife is to support her husband as they both lead their family together in following Christ.

This can only be done through submission and love. These are crucial elements that cannot be ignored and we cannot go without. While the husband is to be the leader, his leadership must be led through love of Christ and love of his wife if it’s not led that way it’s sinful. Likewise, a wife must be willing to submit to her husband’s loving leadership or else that is sinful.

Do our marriage relationships follow the designs that Christ has? Are we obeying Christ in those relationships?
