Christian Devotional – June 4, 2014
VERSE:
1 John 2:10-11–Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.
TRUTH:
The way we treat other believers is very telling. we can say all we want, but unless we are allowing our actions to demonstrate love toward other believers, we are not truly walking in the light ourselves. As Christians, we each have Christ in us and Christ will not hate Himself. If we try to hate a fellow believer, we are showing that Christ is not truly Lord of our life in that area because Christ would love Himself. Do we stumble in the darkness of hate or are we walking in the light of love?
RESPONSE:
Father, help me see each and every believer as loving You and therefore I will love them. I Will not be distracted by anything else, but will remember Your love for them and seek to walk in the light.
