Treat others in a way that honors God. Paul wanted to make sure that everyone understood how to treat others, no matter their position or station. Read 1 Timothy 6:1-2.
All who are under the yoke as slaves are to regard their own masters as worthy of all honor so that the name of God and our doctrine will not be spoken against. Those who have believers as their masters must not be disrespectful to them because they are brethren, but must serve them all the more, because those who partake of the benefit are believers and beloved. Teach and preach these principles.

In that day and time, slavery was a fact of life. Often slavery was due to owing a debt or working to pay off a debt. But, since it was something that was part of the world his audience knew, Paul dealt with it.
A slave who was a believer was to treat his master in a way that honored God. In many cases, masters of slaves became believers because of the witness of their slaves.
We can find ourselves in many positions in this life, but no matter where we find ourselves, we must treat people with respect and honor, in the same way we would treat God. Does that describe us and our actions today?
