Christian Devotional – June 7, 2016

Read Hebrews chapter 10

VERSE:

Hebrews 10:24–and let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

TRUTH:

We need each other. As the body of Christ, we are to come together for purpose. We are to worship and praise God together and we are to encourage one another. Part of worshipping an encouraging each other is to continue to push each other toward love and good deeds. Just like a cowboy uses spurs to urge their horses forward at a faster pace, so we are to urge one another on faster and faster toward all the love and good deed that God has for each one of us. We must continue to keep ourselves focused, but never neglect the fact that we are not to be alone. We are to be bringing others along with us, spurring them along in their relationship with Christ.

RESPONSE:

Father, I know that I need to get better at spurring on others. Help me to not lose focus on reaching and encouraging others. I pray that I will not only push myself to surrender to You more and more each day, but that I will be used by God to persuade others to allow Him to move in their lives more fully each day.
