What’s the first step to take when you feel alone? Naomi knew it, and she took it. Naomi picked herself up and decided to go back to where she had been when she didn’t feel alone. Read Ruth 1:6-7.
Then she arose with her daughters-in-law that she might return from the land of Moab, for she had heard in the land of Moab that the Lord had visited His people in giving them food.

Naomi knew she needed to get back to God. She didn’t know what that would do for her, but she recognized that she needed something different, so she started with that.
When we don’t know where to start, or what to do, we need to get very single-minded. Where were we when we last felt in God’s will? For Naomi, that was a physical change. For us, it may mean a physical change as well, or it could be more of a psychological change. What was our mindset? What were we focusing on? What was going on around us when we felt that we were close to God? That’s a place to start. Go back to what was working and evaluate from there.
Sometimes we need to hit the reset button on our lives. We can’t change everything back to the way it was. Remember, Naomi had a husband and two sonns before. Now she just has two daughters-in-law. But she still recognizes that she needs to go back.
Where do you need to go back to? What type of reset do you need to hit in your own mind and your own circumstance?
